Hygiene measures

To ensure that everyone feels safe, all under construction vol. 2 events will be subject to the “2G” rule. Visitors to the Schauspielhaus need to show a coronavirus vaccine certificate (at least two doses) or proof of immunisation through recovery in the last 3 month days. Please also remember to bring a valid photo-ID. We reserve the right to change these rules if the situation changes and will, if necessary, restrict access further or even cancel events if infections continue to rise. We do this to protect our audience, artists and staff.

The Project

The theatre by the Wupper that used to be the city’s main Schauspielhaus will become the Pina Bausch Centre. The new centre aims to be more than just a place of conservation where a great artistic oeuvre of international standing is cultivated. It will knit together recollection, experimentation, creativity, knowledge transfer, reflection and participation. A new extension will be built as part of the renovation of the Schauspielhaus, for which an architectural competition is due to be announced next year.
