Together with Scott Jennings and Horst Weierstall, the Düsseldorf-based choreographer Alexandra Waierstall turned to Wuppertal and its opera house in the summer of 2021 to explore the city where her grandmother lived and her father was born. She herself had spent a lot of time in the theatre as a child. The film is part of the three-year film and performance project STAGES INTO THE NOW.
The past, present and future merge in this choreographic and cinematic encounter with a space that was abandoned during the pandemic and devasted in the 2021 floods. A dream-like encounter full of emotion and care.
