An arts administrator, cultural professional, drummer and DJ, Maik Ollhoff connects people through ever new artistic projects.
Deeply rooted in the Wuppertal arts scene, he has created platforms and projects for abstract rhythms, experimental music, electronic and acoustic improvisations and glitch. His roles as a drummer, DJ and networker are constantly shifting. What remains constant is his search for the beat of the future. The Schauspielhaus and the series “MA1”, which has been taking place in its foyer since 2010, has played an important role in this. Ollhoff invited artists from all over the world to Wuppertal to go on nightly musical and imaginary journeys together. The sound was always bassy and the lights flickered. Irritation and pleasure were always closely intertwined.
