Francesca Ciaffoni graduated from Codarts Rotterdam Dance Academy in 2014 and joined Conny Janssen Danst company in Rotterdam in the same year. In 2015 she joined Gauthier Dance Company in Stuttgart, where she performed works by Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal – Gai Behar, Marco Goecke, Mauro Bigonzetti, Johan Inger, Andonis Foniadakis, Nanine Linning, Helena Waldman and many other internationally renowned choreographers. With the Gauthier Dance Company she took part in national and international tours and festivals, dancing at Jacob’s Pillow in Massachusetts, the Joyce Theater and New York City Center in New York, at the Thailand Cultural Center, Steps Dance Festival in Switzerland, in Ottawa (Canada), at the Suzanne Dellal Center of Dance in Tel Aviv, and in Moscow and St. Petersburg for the festival CONTEXT, which was founded by the dancer Diana Vishneva. In 2019 Francesca moved to Berlin to continue her career as a freelance performer. In the same year she received an artistic residency as a choreographer for her project with Alessandra La Bella in the Black C Art Gallery in Florida, where she created Il Peso del Fango. She has since been collaborating with various artists in Germany, including since 2020 the Staatsoper Unter Den Linden in Berlin. She is currently involved in the new creation Echogedicht by the choreographer Tiago Manquinho and also joined the Fabien Prioville Dance Company for the new creation 1250 Mb/s, which premiered in November 2021 at tanzhaus nrw Düsseldorf.
