Annalisa Palmieri, born in Barletta, Italy, is a dancer, choreographer and videographer who is now based in Essen. She graduated from the Dance Institute at the Folkwang University of the Arts in 2019. During her studies she had the chance to work with Sita Ostheimer on Species Pitches and Julio Cesar Iglesias Ungo on This horse you cannot ride. In 2019, Annalisa choreographed her solo Der Fremde, which was created as part of the Young Choreographers programme at Folkwang University of the Arts. The solo was invited to Explosive Festival in Bremen in 2019 and to the Koreoproject at Azioni in Danza in Barletta in 2020.

Annalisa was a guest dancer at the Staatstheater Braunschweig for the production B-boys don't cry (2019). Shortly afterwards, she started working for the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, performing Blaubart. Beim Anhören einer Tonbandaufnahme von Béla Bartóks Oper „Herzog Blaubarts Burg“ at the Opernhaus Wuppertal and Sadler's Wells Theatre in London in 2020. In June 2020, Annalisa began production on her short dance film Vale Of Shadows, her first work as a director and choreographer. A co-production with the dancer and choreographer Stsiapan Hurski, the film is supported by the Kulturamt Essen. In December 2020, Annalisa began choreographing and directing Was noch bleibt, her second short dance film.
